In practice, either product can work well in most areas. The choice often comes down to your provider’s experience and your own past results with each product, if you’ve tried both.
Some patients also simply respond better to one formulation than the other for reasons that aren’t fully understood, which is part of why providers sometimes recommend trying a different product if a patient feels their results with one haven’t been as strong as expected.

Pricing for both products can vary based on the number of units needed for your treatment plan, and unit-to-unit conversion between the two isn’t one-to-one. Dysport is typically dosed in higher unit counts than Botox for a comparable effect, which can make direct price comparisons confusing if you’re just looking at cost per unit.
